Focus on South Kensington's Mews

Between its Eastern boundary with Knightsbridge and South Western borders with Chelsea and Earls Court, South Kensington has some of the most beautiful mews streets in London.

The French in particular have spotted that although SW7 is very much ‘Prime Central London’ it is a little more affordable than Knightsbridge, Belgravia or Mayfair yet benefits from the incredibly desirable RBKC parking permit which these other areas do not.

We have all read that the number of French nationals now living in London makes it France's sixth biggest city in terms of population. The French consulate believes there are between 300,000 and 400,000 citizens residing in the English capital, exceeding the inhabitants of Bordeaux, Nantes or Strasbourg and it appears that the majority prefer to live in SW7 .

Most of our mews buyers in SW7 are French and British with Americans and other Europeans making up the rest. The Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle is the epicentre and has created a French 'quarter', by drawing French families looking to be within walking distance of the Lycee, South Kensington Tube, Hyde Park and their French friends who are already here.

Nothing oozes ‘cool’ more than owning a South Kensington Mews in particular the Reece’s and the Queens Gate Place Mews where super smart classic car garages sell cars for millions to clients who buy mews houses from us to park them in.

In addition, developers have been buying up the last of the dilapidated South Kensington mews houses and have been busily refurbishing them to cater for this market, so we are now being instructed on a good selection of mews houses both for sale and rental.
