Kensington Church Street Office
105 Kensington Church Street, London, W8 7LN
The “cool part” of the Royal Borough has been Notting Hills’ reputation to date. The prime property here is characterized by elegant roads with their huge communal gardens laid in concentric circles leading down from the top of the area's central Hill. Elgin, Blenheim, and Clarendon communal gardens were originally to be a racecourse but have latterly become wonderful gardens with private enclaves to get away from the hustle and bustle but also offering community events such as fireworks for Guy Fawkes night.

Portobello Road runs through the heart of this part of the Royal Borough. This road has numerous quirky antique shops at the top end along with the world-famous Portobello Market at weekends. This iconic street also has Electric House, cinema, and diner mid-way along, Portobello Garden Caffe, Portobello Juice Café and toward the Golborne Road end there is the Portobello Green market.
The bustling streets leading from Portobello Road have a wonderful array of small shops, restaurants and landmarks including the famous ‘blue door’, from the film Notting Hill with Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts. Which belonged to a building owned by the film’s director Richard Curtis.
Once a year the Notting Hill carnival is hosted here. The second largest carnival in the world behind Rio de Janeiro’s this features a dazzling procession of floats, dancers, world music and delicious street food.

A little bit of history
Today Fulham may be one of the most expensive and desired places to make a home in London, but it was not always the case. During the 18th Century Fulham was known for debauchery and was where wealthy Londoners came seeking gambling and prostitution. Fulham remained a working class area for some time, undergoing regeneration between World War II and 1980s to become the well-to-do area it is today.
Need to know
A loaded die is sometimes known as a 'Fulham' possibly because of the areas once corrupt reputations.
